Our Heritage: Where it All Began
Did you know Leaside was home to Canada’s first airmail delivery in 1918? Originally established during WWI as a Royal Flying Corps airfield, the Leaside Aerodrome played a vital role in aviation history.
The neighborhood’s development was also fueled by the Canadian Northern Railway, which founded Leaside in 1913 as a model town. By the 1920s, it had become an important industrial center and a symbol of progress.
Today, we honor these roots through our community, our stories, and our annual celebration—Viva la Leaside!

Vendor Setup Notice:
All vendors must arrive by 8:00 AM on the day of their participation to complete setup before festival opening hours.
Saturday, August 9: Mandatory 8:00 AM arrival for setup.
Sunday, August 10: Vendors returning for a second day must also arrive by 8:00 AM to re-establish their booths.
Please note that 24-hour on-site security will be provided throughout the weekend to safeguard vendor areas.
